Where are they Now?

Last August when Ben Affleck was announced to play Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice all of the internet was in a meltdown over fans screaming and crying in outrage over him being cast in the role. Last week, on the heels of Batman’s 75th birthday as a crime fighting superhero character, a picture was released of Ben in his Bat-cowl.

But with the picture released above  of Batman in his cowl and this picture of him in his suit…

A vast majority of the haters are GONE! Sure there are a few stragglers but the majority of the people now posting on Facebook or science fiction and superhero websites are in favor of Ben playing Batman. Well, if they are not out right in favor of him playing Batman they are at least now open minded and eager to see how he plays the role.

I was surprised when Ben Affleck was announced as Batman due only to the fact that he was not one of the names at all on the radar of those being considered for the part. It seems that those who were being suggested as being in the running for the role was pure fan speculation to begin with.

Once the shock wore off I did immediately think this was  creative casting and a great idea. I could easily see him as the playboy Bruce Wayne and if Michael Keaton could pull off playing Batman as well as he did, then I have no worries for Ben Affleck. I am sure he will do great. I am also happy that the hatred and animosity the fan base originally showed has died down.

About liamfoley63

I was born in 1963 and that is relevant to my development of my love for science-fiction and fantasy movies, comic books, superheroes and many other things attributed to Nerd culture. In the 60s I watched all the Saturday afternoon Godzilla and monster movies I could take. In the 70s I became hooked on Star Trek. I am also an artist (in my own mind at least) and a musician. I enjoy learning about physics, astrophysics, chemistry and earth silences such as meteorology, anthropology, paleontology. When I reached my late 30s I began to re-explore my nerd roots. I reconnected with my love of science fiction and fantasy movies along with the other science related topics. For this blog I will focus on movie and TV reviews for science fiction and fantasy and post my thoughts on up coming movies. I will also include some fun facts from the various sciences I enjoy along with weather facts and bits from royalty and history. What I will not discuss is religion and politics. I am married to a beautiful woman named Sarah and have a lovely daughter named Danielle.
